MEP Jytte Guteland’s ambitious plan to reduce emissions in EU aligned with the Paris Agreement

MEP Jytte Guteland , the Swedish social democrat, has proposed an ambitious reduction in EU emissions in her new Climate report, flagging a start of a controversial debate in the European Parliament.

But in fact the Paris Agreement’s objectives to limit global heating to 1.5 degrees could become a real achievement for the EU if the MEP’s proposal to cut 65% emissions is adopted.

The ENVI committee will scheduled to vote on the draft report on 3 June.
